Chipping Drill using Hula-Hoop

The key to this chipping drill it close is hitting your landing spot. That’s the only thing you can control. This week’s drill use a hula-hoop to help you practice hitting your landing spot.

Select your Chipping drill landing location

Visualize the chip you want to hit and your landing spot. Then place a hula-hoop at the landing spot. Give yourself 10 balls to do the following: (1) get one ball in the hoop and (2) get one ball to land within 3 feet (advanced player) to 10 feet of the hole (beginner). The goal is to finish the drill in as few strokes as possible.

Start by adding backspin to the ball in one set. Then hit the ball lower and play for more roll during another set.

The hula-hoop gets you in the habit of aiming at your landing spot and shows you how your shots react when they hit the ground. Use this chipping drill to improve your scoring.
