Anti-Slicing Drill

If you slice all the time, you could be trying to square up the clubface with your back arm and hand. This doesn’t work. The key to hitting straighter shots is leading the swing with your front arm and hand not your back arm and hand.

This drill corrects the problem:

Grip your driver in your front hand only. Then put your back hand in your pocket or behind your back. Now assume your normal setup position and swing the club back and through with your front hand and arm only. Make sure you square the clubface through the impact zone. Take only three quarter swings to get the full feel of the swing.

Repeat the drill until you get the feel of having your front side lead the swing. Keep re-minding yourself as you do the drill that the back side is your power side and the front side is your control side. Work on this drill until you see your slice disappear.
