Below is the second in our series of practice games. Games keep you from getting bored while practicing—whether it’s at the range or practice green. Enjoy!
Tee up a ball. Stand behind it and envision a 40-yard strip down the center of the fairway. Anything outside the strip on the right is out of bounds. Anything outside the strip on the left is in the water. Now hit 10 shots. Keep track of where your shots go.
Wining is hitting 6 out of 10 shots in the fairway. Give yourself no more than 2 sets of 10 shots to win the game with the same club. Mix up your shots. Hit fades, draws, and straight shots alternately.
Winning this game is a challenge. But even if you lose, the game teaches you to hit dif-ferent ball flights with different clubs—making it way more productive than hitting shot after shot after shot. More important, the game dispels the boredom of practice.
