North, South, East, West Game

This is the fifth in our series of practice games, which make practicing more fun. If it’s more fun, you’ll practice more and improve your game more.

Improving your putting is the fastest way to take your game to the next level. The game below is a favorite among many Tour players looking to improve their putting.

Game:

Find a cup with a fairly flat surface. Then take four balls and place each one 3 feet from the hole and at points north, south, east, west from the hole. Using your regular pre-shot routine, attempt to sink each putt. Having sunk four putts, move out to 4 feet from the cup and then to 5 feet y from the cup. This gives you a total of 12 putts.

Scoring:

Track your putts. To win the game you need to sink 10 out of 12 putts. Give yourself no more than two complete cycles to win the game. The Tour conversion average from 3 to 5 feet is 88 percent or just over 10.5 putts out of 12. See how you compare.
