Hit Your Landing Spot To Save Strokes

Do you make this mistake when chipping from just off the green: You stare at where you want the ball to stop near the hole. You should be staring at your landing spot instead.
Hitting your landing spot is the key to knocking it close.

This drill teaches you to control your landing spot:

Stick four tees in the ground to form a three-foot box one yard onto the green. Find a spot where a chip with your pitching wedge lands in the box. Drop some balls on this spot and chip to the box. Practice until you can get 10 chips in the box in a row. If you miss one, start all over again.

Some reminders when practicing: Play the ball in the center of your stance. Swing back and through smoothly. Maintain the your wrist angles when hitting.
